LAT (Law Admission Test)
In August 2018, the Supreme Court of Pakistan instructed the
Higher Education Commission (HEC) to conduct assessment tests for admissions to
LLB degree programs and assist with the enrollment of law graduates with the
Pakistan Bar Council. Recognising the need for a contemporary, independent, and
financially viable testing service emphasising transparency and accountability,
the Commission approved the creation of a revamped Education Testing Council
(ETC) in its 34th meeting held on August 30-31, 2018.

Law-GAT
(Graduate Assessment Test)
The Law Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) is a prerequisite for
applying to get registered as an Advocate in the Bar Council. Law graduates who
wish to practice law and get enrolled in any Bar Council must pass the Law-GAT,
under the respective provisions of the Pakistan Legal Practitioners & Bar
